My entire family moved away from Christmas, Hanukkah, Birthday (all occurring in December) gifts years ago. Now each of us makes a donation to a worthwhile organization (I like the Equal Justice Initiative) and tells all the others about it. We have so much. We're all minimalists or moving in that direction. There are so many others in such need. We've internalized the concept of "enough."
