How does one know an article of their's got nominated, and rejected?

… with Japanese gangster article. I refused, and stand by my choice (I think it’s too funny to cut). The article got nominated, but rejected for a boost. Did that line cause the rejection? I’ll never know, but I wouldn’t remove it if it did.
