Hi F.B. Thank you for reading and responding to my article. I appreciate your perspective.

Since I was staying on the 31st floor of a busy hotel, waiting for an empty elevator or walking (while certainly the healthy choice) were not viable options. Since the hotel had multiple posted signs stating that all guests were to mask in public spaces it seemed that my request of my fellow elevator riders was a reasonable one. They happily complied. The day has yet to come that I claim the moral high ground, impose my belief system on others or assert that my choices are the only right ones. As you suggested, had the other guests refused to mask I would have either tolerated it realizing my risk was low or stopped the already moving elevator and gotten off at a floor not my own then continued my journey upward later.
