Good stuff here but what I find extraordinarily demotivating is that after 4+ years on the platform and with nearly 1200 stories published I cannot break out of my same circle of readers except rarely and even then most of the new "readers" seem like bots. Also, if I stop posting for more than a couple of days I essentially disappear from view on Medium. There is no, and I mean no, sustained audience building possible.
